How do Ah and kWh differ?
Amp-hours (Ah) express charge capacity. Watt-hours (Wh) express energy; divide Wh by 1,000 to get kWh. For a nominal comparison, multiply the battery’s nominal voltage by its Ah rating. Compare both values from the same model and specification conditions.
An illustrative 12.8 V × 100 Ah is 1,280 Wh, or 1.28 kWh. At 25.6 V, 100 Ah is 2,560 Wh, or 2.56 kWh. These are arithmetic examples, not usable-energy or runtime promises for a Toyama model.
Reference: Victron’s technical table lists voltage, Ah and nominal energy separately, with temperature and discharge conditions. Its product ratings are not specifications for our catalog.
Will more kWh run every load?
Stored energy and output capability are separate checks. A battery may have enough energy for your planned operating period while its current limit, or the inverter’s output limit, still restricts the load. Check continuous and peak ratings separately.
The LP1500 manufacturer table, for example, spans 12.8 V and 25.6 V options, 640–7,680 Wh, and continuous discharge limits that vary by exact model. A series range does not tell you which values belong to the unit you are considering.

Ask for usable energy and expected runtime at your actual load, including the proposed operating limits. A nominal kWh figure is a starting comparison, not a guaranteed number of hours.
Does matching voltage prove inverter compatibility?
No. Check the battery’s operating voltage range against the inverter’s supported range, then verify charging limits, discharge limits and any required battery-management communication. Ask for confirmation of the exact battery, inverter and firmware combination.
Reference: Victron’s compatibility documentation distinguishes tested battery integrations and communication requirements. This supports the need for an exact pairing check; it does not certify compatibility between products in Toyama’s catalog.
For the communication evidence to request, use our battery BMS and inverter communication checklist. It separates interface labels from a documented model and firmware pairing.
What should a battery enquiry include?
For a Dubai solar or backup-power project, send a brief that lets the team compare configurations rather than guess from one capacity number:
- The exact inverter model, or its proposed voltage range if a model has not been selected.
- The devices running together, their power ratings and the required operating time.
- The battery series and model code, plus the product-page link.
- Available space, indoor or outdoor location, expected conditions and any expansion requirement.
- Questions about usable energy, current limits, compatibility and documentation that remain unanswered.
Mark unknown details clearly. Confirm the proposed configuration with a qualified system designer before ordering or installation.
